Review of Manchester City's 2019/2020 Season

19/20 season might be a season to forget for Manchester City, however they are still in the Uefa Champions League, but if they don’t win that, ultimately it will have been a failure for Pep Guardiola and his men. They are favourites to become European Champions, however we all know that knockout football is very unpredictable.

City are current favourites for the UCL at 10/3 and also favourites to become Premier League winners next season at 21/20, both of which you can get on sites that aren’t on Gamstop; here are some sites not blocked by Gamstop. These sites allow for punters to enjoy the best gambling markets online that aren’t going to blocked or restricted by any schemes.

In the head of Pep Guardiola, he will know that with his expectations, winning the Premier League should be a minimum target for himself and City due to the his previous trophy record – he’s now won 30 trophies as a manager, a crazy stat to say he is still a young manager.

Pep now knows that City’s season is now coming down to the UCL and this season will undoubtably be described as a failure if they don’t lift the trophy in Lisbon at the end of August which is crazy to think. However that is the sort of pressure Pep will put on himself and the players because of the standards they are set in previous seasons – the first team to break 100 points when they won the league in 17/18. Although I say it as if winning the Champions League is easy… City take on Lyon this week and will then face either Barcelona or Bayern Munich (both former clubs of Pep’s) to reach the finals.

In both domestic cup competitions, City won the EFL cup for the 2nd time in 3 seasons with again is a decent record but it’s not the silverware they desire but still creditable. In the FA Cup, City were unexpectantly embarrassed in the semi-finals to Arsenal in which a game they were expected to win.

Ultimately, City haven’t been good enough this season, 9 defeats in the league is never going to win you any top European league so Pep will be working tirelessly this summer to ensure they don’t have a season like this one.
