Bild report €55m bid for Schalke winger
According to German newspaper Bild, City are poised to make a 'whopping' €55m (£40m) bid for Schalke's Leroy Sane. The 19 year old winger would become the most expensive German footballer of all time were the deal to go through. Pep Guardiola is known to be a fan, saying earlier in the season that "Sane is a huge talent and I can only congratulate Germany to have a talent like him".
Meanwhile, Spanish playmaker Isco has once again been linked with a move to Manchester. The Real Madrid star has fallen out of favour with manager Rafa Benitez, and was an unused sub in their 2-2 draw with Valencia yesterday. City are confident a deal can be struck, although journalist and Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has dismissed the rumours, tweeting that there is "no chance whatsoever of Real Madrid selling Isco in January".
Watford manager Quique Flores believes City will win the Premier League title this season, after the Blues snatched a late victory against his side on Saturday evening. When asked if he thought City were favourites for the league, Flores replied "Yes. I thought so in the first leg (half of the season). I keep thinking the same".
Finally, Bacary Sagna has warned his teammates that they cannot keep relying on Yaya Toure to win games. The Ivorian struck a crucial equaliser in the win at Vicarage Road, and Sagna said: "He is a very important player for us. He is our captain while Kompany is away and he scored a great goal and he scored against Sunderland and Arsenal. He can’t be on top and score in every game. But he did it at Watford and has been doing that in the last few. "
