Striker suffers hamstring injury in defeat to Ecuador
Sergio Aguero has suffered a hamsting injury whilst on international duty with Argentina. The forward, who scored five goals in his last league outing for City, was carried off after 20 minutes of Argentina's 2-0 defeat to Ecuador in Buenos Aires.
Reports claim that Aguero was in tears in the dressing room, and Nicolas Otamendi sympathised with his City team mate: "He had been having a great time and was playing well."
It represents a major blow for the Blues, who face a run of seven fixtures in the space of three weeks, including pivotal games against Sevilla in the Champions League and the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
Having allowed Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic to leave in the summer, manager Manuel Pellegrini is left with just Wilfried Bony and youngster Kelechi Iheanacho as his only available strikers, although Raheem Sterling could play there in an emergency.
