Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti has hinted the club will make a move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez in January. “In January, some big players will come,” said Zanetti. “The club is working towards January, and they have always offered support when we needed it. He (Tevez) is having problems with his club, but he is a great player.”
Manchester City’s chief scout Carlo Cancellieri has revealed that the club is highly interested in Napoli trio Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani. "I confirm the interest of Manchester City in Hamsik, Lavezzi and Cavani, and I think that this should only please the Napoli fans," Cancellieri told Radio Crc. "Cavani in particular has always been my 'bullet', a player I like a lot. Other than (Zlatan) Ibrahimovic, Cavani is the most incisive attacker in Serie A. And his agent knows well Manchester City's appreciation for his client."
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has told Gulf News he thinks the new-found threat of Manchester City could be here to stay. Neville said of City: "Are they fly-by-nights? That depends upon the owner. If the owner stays with them for the long term and continues to put money into the club and buys quality players, then they won't be fly-by-nights. But City hasn't just put money into players, they've improved their training facilities, infrastructure and widened their sponsorship base."
