Irish midfielder pens three year contract
Young Irish midfielder Jack Byrne has committed his future to the Blues by signing a new three year contract with the club. Byrne has yet to make his first team debut, but impressed for the EDS last season with his consistent form and eye for goal.
Earlier this year Byrne spoke warmly of manager Manuel Pellegrini, and stressed his eagerness to remain at the club.
“Manuel Pellegrini has a lot of respect for the club’s academy players and makes sure we keep involved in everything around the club.
“He’s brought the youths, under-21s and first-team much closer together now. Whereas we’d use different facilities to the first-team before, everything is open for all the squads now. It’s a real family atmosphere.”
Byrne is expected to join Dutch side Cambuur, who recently loaned Albert Rusnak and Sinan Bytyqi from City, on loan next season.
