City are said to be preparing a £25m bid for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to the ever reliable footylatest.com. The club are set to be without Yaya Toure for a number of weeks in the New Year as the Ivorian plays in the African Cup of Nations, and are willing to offer Carlos Tevez in part exchange to secure a deal for Khedira.

Sergio Aguero, meanwhile, says it is a "shame" that Tevez has been unable to settle his differences with manager Roberto Mancini.

“I can’t defend Carlos or the club because I don’t really know what happened... Hopefully, in the next few days, or the next month, it can be solved and he can come back with us", said Aguero. "I’m sorry for the situation but it is a problem between him and the club and they have to fix it", he added.

Yaya Toure has lauded City's strength in depth after the club's impressive start to the season. "What I have always said is that we have more than one team now. We have got two teams," Touré said. "If you see Wolves in the Carling Cup, people said it was the second team but for me, it is not the second team because everybody is good enough to play."

Micah Richards fears Fabio Capello's England snub is permanent, according to The Daily Telegraph. Richards is understood to be aggrieved at the limited communication from the England managerial team as there has been little dialogue with the player during the past four years.
