Michael Robinson passes away aged 61

Forward scored nine goals in 35 appearances during 1979-80 season
Ex-City player Michael Robinson has sadly passed away aged 61. The forward joined the Blues from Preston North End for £750,000 in 1979, and scored nine goals in 35 appearances during his only season at Maine Road.
Robinson went on to play for Brighton & Hove Albion, Liverpool, Queens Park Rangers and Osasuna, before establishing a career as a highly regarded broadcaster on Spanish television. He was diagnosed with skin cancer in 2018.
A statement on City's official website said: "Manchester City are saddened to hear that Michael Robinson has passed away aged 61. The thoughts of everyone at Manchester City are with Michael’s family at this difficult time."
