Erling Haaland is available for the trip to Southampton, although manager Pep Guardiola refused to say if the striker will start the game at St Mary's. Rodri, Oscar Bobb, Nathan Ake and John Stones remain absent.

Southampton have endured a difficult campaign, having been relegated early and only amassing 11 points to date, but Guardiola said his players will give the Saints the respect they deserve.

“It starts 0-0 and is a massively important game for us, definitely,” he said at Friday's press conference.

“It’s just three games left, after that game it’s two. We have a huge respect for them.

“It’s the best results we’ve got in a row; we didn’t have that this season. I know at the beginning of the season we did it, but yeah, we can do better.”

City won their last home game against Southampton 4-0, with goals from Joao Cancelo, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez and Erling Haaland. Overall City have won 42 of the 102 games played against the Saints, with 27 draw and 33 defeats.
