CEO Ferran Soriano: "We are very proud, everybody at Manchester City"
CEO Ferran Soriano expressed his delight after City were named as Balon D'Or "Club of the Year" for the second successive season.
The Blues enjoyed an outstanding campaign in 2022/23, winning the European Cup for the first time in the club's history, and completing an historic treble.
Five of that team were named in the top 10 players in the world at the awards ceremony in Paris, with Erling Haaland (2nd) joining Kevin De Bruyne (4th), Rodri (5th), Julian ALvarez (7th) and Bernardo Silva (9th).
“We are very proud, everybody at Manchester City. The chairman, the ownership, the board, everyone who works at Manchester City, we are very proud”, said Soriano.
“We enjoyed a very good season, but we all know it’s not the product of one season, it’s the product of a lot of hard work.
“Obviously we are here because of these extraordinary players and others, our coaches, our football director.
“But behind there is a lot of people who have been working for the Club for a long time.
“It’s more than a decade of hard work. We also know there are many excellent football clubs and some of our colleagues here and we all work very good and very hard.
“It’s an honour to have it and to receive it for a second year is an honour. We love it!”
