Aymeric Laporte is suspended for the Manchester derby on Saturday following his red card against Crystal Palace, whilst Ferran Torres continues to be sidelined. Kyle Walker is a doubt after suffering a foot injury during the 4-1 victory against Brugge on Wednesday night, and it is unclear if he will available for selection.

“Right now, I don't know. We have training in a few hours and we will know it. Right now, I don't know,” Pep Guardiola said at Friday's press conference.

The manager was keen to play down the significance of the occasion on Saturday, and said that he was treating the derby in the same way he would treat any other game.

“I don't think so (that it is the biggest game). Maybe, for some people,” Pep added.

“We try to make every game important. The derby is special for sentimental issues but at the end it is the same result.

“It is not a final, it is one more game.

“I wake up in the morning and come to the training centre and am here for 10-14 hours here and after I go home.

“I am not going to the pubs to drink a beer so I can’t imagine the atmosphere.

“It is normal, but I have to be cold in my mind, in my head to know what to do, to do our best.

“No more than that.”

City won their last away game at Old Trafford 2-0, with Bernardo Silva and Fernandinho scoring for the Blues in a Carabao Cup se. Overall City have won 53 of the 174 games played against United, with 50 draws and 71 defeats.
