City agree fee for Ilkay GundoganBorussia Dortmund accept bid of £19.2m for German international

Manchester City and Borussia Dortmund have agreed a deal for midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. The fee is believed to be £19.2m, and the transfer is expected to go ahead this week.

Personal terms have already been agreed with Gundogan, despite the player suffering a serious injury earlier this month when he dislocated a knee cap playing basketball. It was initially feared that the injury would rule him out for six months, but City are optimistic that the player could return by late August.

The German international, who made 105 appearances for Dortmund in a five year spell, becomes Pep Guardiola's first signing in what promises to be a busy summer for the Blues. Aymeric Laporte, John Stones, Leroy Sane and Toni Kroos are amongst the other names linked with a move to Manchester.
