Iheanacho set to be included in Champions League squad

Injured Samir Nasri will make way for the Nigerian youngster

Kelechi Iheanacho will be included in City's UEFA Champions League squad, manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed. With only 17 foreign players allowed in the squad, all slots were already taken so Samir Nasri, who has been injured since Novemeber, is the player who will make way.

“Kelechi will be in the UCL squad. I told Nasri I would take him out as he needs two months more to be fit.”, said Pellegrini at today's press conference.

“We need Kelechi now as Bony is injured too. We couldn’t take the risk to go into the last 16 game with just Kun.”

Iheanacho scored his first senior hat-trick in the 4-0 victory against Aston Villa at the weekend, and has netted eight goals in all competitions this season.
