Blues line up £30m bid
City are thought to be closing in on a move for Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony, according to reports. It is likely that any deal for the Ivorian striker will cost the Blues close to £30m.
Bony, 26, was the top scorer in the Preimer League in the last calendar year, with 20 goals to his name. The player is currently away on international duty with the Ivory Coast, ahead of the start of the African Cup of Nations.
City have suffered a striker shortage recently, with Edin Dzeko, Sergio Aguero and Stevan Jovetic all being ruled out with injury over the festive period. Jovetic has since regained fitness, whilst Aguero and Dzeko are close to a return to action.
The Blues failed to replace Alvaro Negredo in the summer transfer window as a result of FFP sanctions, but now appear to have lined up Bony as his successor.
Matija Nastasic and Scott Sinclair may be sold, to Schalke 04 and Aston Villa respectively, to free up funds for the deal.
