Aguero on the scoresheet for Argentina
Sergio Aguero scored a somewhat fortuitous goal, as Argentina came from a goal behind to beat Croatia 2-1 at Upton Park. Anas Sharbini had given Croatia the lead, before Cristian Ansaldi's shot deflected in off Aguero's arm.
The striker was then fouled in the area, allowing Lionel Messi to score the winning goal from the spot, before being substituted for ex-City team mate Carlos Tevez. Pablo Zabaleta played the full 90 minutes, whilst Martin Demichelis and Willy Caballero were both unused substitutes.
Fernandinho started Brazil's 4-0 victory over Turkey, and provided a sublime assist for Neymar to open the scoring. The City midfielder played a 40-yard pass over the top of the Turkish defence, and the Barcelona forward finished comfortably. Fernandinho was replaced by Casemiro after 73 minutes.
Vincent Kompany, meanwhile, missed Belgium's 3-1 win against Iceland with a calf injury, and is expected to be out of action for "10-12 days", according to Belgian manager Marc Wilmots.
