Captain Vincent Kompany joins David Silva and Aleksandar Kolarov on the sidelines, after sustaining a calf injury in Wednesday's defeat to CSKA Moscow. The injury is not thought to be too serious, and Eliaquim Mangala is likely to deputise.

On a brighter note, Frank Lampard is available for selection once again and manager Manuel Pellegrini hopes the midfielder can pick up where he left off.

"He is just coming back from injury. I hope he will return the same way he was before his injury", he said.

Pellegrini also remained bullish about City's Premier League prospects, and dismissed the suggestion that he was under pressure after three defeats in the last four games.

"In my 25 years as a manager, the only pressure I have is managing this team. I never feel external pressure.

"It’s important to continue in the Premier League as we are – adding points We will continue fighting."

City's last away league game at Loftus Road ended in a 0-0 draw in January 2013. Overall City have won 22 of the 50 games played against QPR, with 16 draws and 12 defeats.
