David Silva will miss the Manchester derby after suffering knee ligament damage in the Capital One Cup defeat to Newcastle. He is expected to be out for up to four weeks. Yaya Toure, however, is expected to be fit according to manager Manuel Pellegrini.
"Yaya has a small problem, we will see him tomorrow but I think he will not have any problems."
"David has a problem with his ligament. Maybe he will be out for around three weeks so he will not be available," he said.
“It is a very important game but every game has just three points so it is very important for us to add just three points. Being a derby is more important for the fans. I expect that we are going to have a tough game against a very good team with very good players.”
City's last home league game against United ended in a 4-1 victory, with Sergio Aguero (2), Yaya Toure and Samir Nasrigetting the goals. Overall City have won 46 of the 156 games played against United, with 47 draws and 63 defeats.
