Fernandinho named Bluemoon Player of the Month for December

Brazilian midfielder polls 66% of the vote

City midfielder Fernandinho has capped a fine month by being named as the Bluemoon  Player of the Month for December. The Brazilian received an overwhelming 66% of the vote, with fellow midfielders James Milner and Jesus Navas in second and third place respectively.

Fernandinho netted his first goals for the club during an impressive month, with a brace against Arsenal in a 6-3 victory, and has become an integral part of Manuel Pellegrini's side.

The midfielder, signed for £30m from Shahktar Donetsk in June 2013, has inexplicably been overlooked by Brazil coach Felipe Scolari, but must surely now be in contention for the 2014 World Cup squad.
