City boss ranks Argentinian alongside Messi and Ronaldo
City manager Manuel Pellegrini has described Sergio Aguero as one of the world's best players, after an impressive performance by the striker helped City to a emphatic 6-0 victory against Tottenham.
The Argentinian's brace took his tally to 14 goals in his last 11 City games, becoming the Premier League's top scorer this season, and manager Pellegrini said: "I think Kun [Aguero], after Messi and Ronaldo, is [in] the top three players in the world."
Fellow striker Alvaro Negredo also scored in the romp, and was unlucky to see a first half effort given as an own goal following a deflection off Sandro. Pellegrini, who signed the Spaniard from Sevilla in the summer, is pleased with the way Negredo has adapted to his new environment.
He said: "He is the perfect player for the Premier League. I think he is a very important player and very happy here in England. The way the team plays is very comfortable for him and it is easier [to play alongside] beside Kun Aguero."
