Álvaro Negredo voted Player of the Month for August

Spaniard scores twice in three games

Álvaro Negredo has won the inaugural Bluemoon Player of the Month award of the 2013/14 season, polling 64% of the total votes. Edin Dzeko was second with 15%, whilst Jesus Navas came third with 8%.

The result is somewhat of a surprise, in that Negredo has yet to start a competitive game for City, but hints at less than convincing displays from those who have featured from the beginning.

The Spaniard has netted twice in three games, and would have had a third had his goal against Newcastle not been wrongly ruled out for offside.
