Form guide:

Sergio Aguero is expected to be missing for at least a month as he continues to recover from a knee injury sustained at the end of last season. Ayermric Laporte is unlikely to feature, having only just returned to a training after testing positive for Covid-19, whilst Ilkay Gundogan has also contracted the virus and will now have to isolate for ten days.

New signing Nathan Ake is expected to deputise for Laporte, whilst Ferran Torres could also feature, and Guardiola has been encouraged by what he has seen from the pair:

“We bought him as a centre-back but sometimes he can help us as a full-back,” he added. “Maybe if we get injuries, he can play there.

“So far, it’s really good. What you have to do, all the players and staff, all the people close to them, is help them settle as soon as possible.

“They are two nice people and they are going to help us.”

City lost their last game at Molineux 3-2, despite leading 2-0 with a brace from Raheem Sterling. Overall City have won 48 of the 121 games played against the Wanderers, with 25 draws and 48 defeats.
