City agree to sell Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich

Deal thought to be worth £54.8m with winger to leave club at the end of the season

City have agreed a deal worth up to £54.8m with Bayern Munich for Leroy Sane. The German international will join the Bundesliga club at the end of this season, but is unlikely to feature again for the Blues this campaign.

Sane joined City from Schalke 04 in 2016 for £37m, and has scored 38 goals in 133 appearances for the club.

Pep Guardiola was keen to retain the player's services, but Sane repeatedly turned down a new contract offer. It was expected that he would move to Munich last summer, but a cruciate ligament injury sustained in the Community Shield scuppered the prospect of any deal.

It is thought that City will receive an initial £44.7m, with a further £10m due in add-ons. The club have also negotiated a 10% sell-on clause.
