Pep Guardiola confirms that winger will leave club after four years
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Leroy Sane will leave the club after turning down a new contract offer.
The German international has returned to fitness after suffering a knee injury in the Community Shield last August, but has decided that his futue lies away from Manchester.
With his contract due to expire in 2021, the Blues will look to cash in this summer with Bayern Munich his likely destination.
"Leroy has said he doesn't want to extend the contract," Guardiola said at Friday's press conference. "It means he's going to leave, it's going to happen this summer or at the end of the contract.
"We offered two or three times and he rejected so he's going to play for another club. Leroy rejected to extend and everybody knows that. If at the end of this season we agree between the two clubs he will leave.
"'I'm disappointed. We want him. He's a young player with incredible potential. It's difficult to find them.
"We tried before the injury, after the surgery, but he has other ambitions. We want players who are fully committed.
"We respect him, he's an incredibly nice guy. I love him. He's so well educated, has a nice family. He wants another adventure for his career."
