"Some of the football we’ve seen under Pep Guardiola has been breath-taking the likes of which no-one else has ever produced.”
UEFA's decision to ban Manchester City from the Champions League shouldn't detract from the club's remarkable achievements, according to former midfielder Michael Brown.
The Blues are alleged to have breached FFP guidelines by overstating sponsorship revenue, although the club vehemently deny any wrongdoing and have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
The charges relate to the period 2012-2016, before manager Pep Guardiola took over and Brown, speaking exclusively to 888 sport, feels that it shouldn't detract from the Spaniard's phenomenal success in England:
“We will get rival fans with opinions of certain things which is normal these days. This won’t be any different. But we just have to look at what we were treated to last season.
“City’s performances in the Premier League and to win every game in the run-in was remarkable. Some of the football we’ve seen under Pep Guardiola has been breath-taking the likes of which no-one else has ever produced.”
