Sergio Aguero and John Stones have given Pep Guardiola a fitness boost ahead of the visit of Leicester City. Both players have returned to training following injury, and could be on the bench tomorrow. David Silva, however, is still suffering from a knock sustained during the derby defeat to United.

Leicester currently lead City by four points in the Premier League table, and Guardiola is expecting a difficult game at The Etihad.

“They did really well last season when Brendan Rodgers took over the team,” said Guardiola. “And this season as well.

“They have been so consistent in this part of the season.

“They play the same. Except Maguire, the team is the same. There is a lot of quality up front and in the middle. At the back they are solid.

“They play so good on the counter attack. They play so good in their positional game. They control all parts of the game.

“It is a fantastic team, it was last season. After that game it was my feeling they would be fighting for the top four and it’s happened."

City won the last game against the Foxes at The Etihad, courtesy of a wonder strike from Vincent Kompany. Overall City have won 50 of the 102 games played against Leicester, with 24 draws and 28 defeats.

Predicted line-up: Ederson, Walker, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Mendy, Rodri, Gundogan, Foden, De Bruyne, Sterling, Jesus

Score prediction: City 2 Leicester 2
