David Silva set to leave Manchester City at the end of next seasonSpanish international confirms intention to depart after ten years at the club

David Silva has confirmed that next season will be his last as a Manchester City player at a press conference in Gran Canaria.

The Spanish international joined the Blues in 2010 from Valencia, and has gone on to make 395 appearances for the club to date, scoring 71 times.

The midfielder is widely regarded as one of City's greatest ever players, with a trophy haul that includes four Premier League titles, four League Cups and two FA Cups.

Asked if he would stay beyond next season, Silva said: "No, this is the last one."

He added: "Ten years for me is enough. It's the perfect time for me.

"Initially, City were talking about two years, but I decided to sign [for] another one, so I finished at 10 years.

"It completes the cycle. It's a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team. So 10 years - that's it."
