Bernardo Silva named as Bluemoon Player of the Month for March 2019

Portuguese playmaker recently signed new six year contract and has been lauded by Pep Guardiola

Bernardo Silva has been named as the Bluemoon Player of the Month for March, after a series of impressive performances that saw the Blues win all five games played.

Silva netted three times in March, with goals against Schalke and Swansea followed by the opener in the 2-0 win at Craven Cottage.

The Portuguese playmaker polled 64% of the vote, ahead of team mates Raheem Sterling and Oleksandr Zinchenko, and was singled out for praise recently by manager Pep Guardiola.

"What Bernardo has done this season is a consequence of the way he accepts his role," said Guardiola. "He works so hard and the rewards are there. Right now with the way he plays I cannot do anything else but put him on the pitch and let him play.

"He's so important for us. What he's done for us is the best."

The midfielder was recently rewarded with a new six year contract, that will see him remain at The Etihad until 2025.
