Pep Guardiola serves a touchline ban, having been sent to the stands during City's 2-1 defeat against Liverpool in the quarter finals of last seasons Champions League. His assistant Mikel Arteta will deputise in his absence, and faced the media at Tuesday's press conference.
When asked about possible injuries for Benjamin Mendy and Sergio Aguero, Arteta said: “We will have [a] training session now and [we'll]see how they react in the next 24 hours, then make a decision.”
He added that he would do everything he could to minimise any disruption caused by Guardiola's absence:
“Up to now, the preparation has been normal, the same process we normally do. Tomorrow, we cannot have any communication (with Pep). I will be on the touchline and I will try to make the right decisions.”
