Travelling party for US tour confirmed

Guardiola names youthful squad for International Champions Cup

Pep Guardiola has named a young squad for City's pre-season tour of the United States. With many senior players given time off to recover after the World Cup, Guardiola has called a number of youngsters from the club's Elite Development Squad. 23 of the 28 man party are aged 23 or under, with Claudio Bravo, Aymeric Laporte, Riyad Mahrez, Leroy Sane and Oleksandr Zinchenko amongst the more experienced players named.

Joe Hart is a surprise inclusion after spending last season on loan at West Ham United, whilst Benjamin Mendy and Bernardo Silva will join up with the squad in America.

The Blues will play three games as part of the International Champions Cup, starting with a tie against Borussia Dortmund on Friday in Chicago before travelling to New Jersey to face Liverpool. The tour ends with a match agianst Guardiola's former club Bayern Munich in Miami on July 29th.
