David Silva named as Bluemoon Player of the Month for March

Spanish international praised by Guardiola as "one of the best players in England"

David Silva has been named as the Bluemoon Player of the Month for March 2018.

The Spanish international capped off for a fine month by scoring three goals as the Blues took a maximum twelve points from the four league games played in March.

He netted in the 3-0 victory at The Emirates on the opening day of the month, before adding a brace in a 2-0 victory against Stoke. Manager Pep Guardiola praised the midfielder following the victory at the Bet365 Stadium:

“David is a guy with a lot of technical skills and this league is so complicated because of the physicality and the weather conditions but he survives; he’s been one of the best players in England for a long time now.

“All that time he has played at a high level and we are so happy to have him, and to extend his contract. He’s a huge competitor. He doesn’t speak too much but on the pitch, the moment the game is on, he steps forward. He never hides, even when the going is tough, and that is so important.”

Silva polled 77% of the votes, ahead of Leroy Sane in second place with 13% and Kevin De Bruyne.
