French midfielder leaves in deal with could rise to £3.2m
Samir Nasri has joined Turkish side Antalyaspor on a two-year contract, ending his six year spell at the club. The fee could rise to £3.2m, but City will make a significant saving by removing his £170,000 a week earnings from the wage bill.
The French midfielder joined City in a £25m deal from Arsenal in 2011, and he went on to make 176 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals. Nasri won two league titles with City, as well as two League Cups and the Charity Shield. However, the player fell out of favour with new manager Pep Guardiola when he returned to pre-season training over weight and spent last season on loan at Sevilla.
"Everybody at the club wishes Samir good luck in the next chapter of his career and would like to thank him for some fantastic memories," City said in a statement.
