City still expected to win the league despite Community Shield result
By Guest writer, Wed 09 August 2023 14:58
Manchester City fans have little reason to believe their grip on the Premier League trophy will be loosened despite failing to win the Community Shield on Sunday.
That’s according to betting experts at your-bonus-code.com who have taken a look at the points predictions that betting sites are making ahead of the new season.
While the most popular method of betting remains fixed odds gambling, the relatively niche world of spread betting can also offer insight into how the coming months are expected to pan out.
City’s Premier League points prediction is set at 87 points, just two shy of last season’s total, but a full 13 points short of the heights of the 2017-18 campaign. There’s no reason for concern if the estimates prove accurate though, with Arsenal expected to fall back to just 77 and Liverpool and Manchester United both even further back.
Of course, there’s invariably a surprise somewhere along the way, but the indications are that 2023/24 will see yet more silverware heading to The Etihad, justifying Kyle Walker’s decision to turn down the advances of Bayern Munich.
