City confirm signing of Maximo Perrone in £8.2m deal

Argentinian midfielder signs five-and-a-half year deal at The Etihad

City have confirmed the signing of Maximo Perrone from Velez Sarsfield, in a deal believed to be worth around £8.2m.

The 20-year-old midfielder has signed a five-and-a-half year deal that will see him remain at The Etihad until 2028.

The Argentinian under-20 international will join up with Pep Guardiola's squad after the U-20 South American Championship in Colombia. It is believed that the player will be assessed before a decision is made on his immediate future.

Perrone made his debut for Velez in March 2020, and went on to make 33 appearances for the club, scoring three times. He helped them reach the semi-finals of last season's Copa Libertadores, but was unavailable for both legs of their defeat by Flamengo.
