Winners will face either Chelsea or Real Madrid in the last four
City will face Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, following the draw in Nyon earlier today.
The Blues qualified courtesy of a 5-0 aggregate win against Sporting Lisbon, whilst Atletico knocked out Manchester United after winning 1-0 at Old Trafford last week.
The two sides have never met before in any competition, but manager Pep Guardiola is expecting a difficult game against Diego Simeone's side.
“What can I say? They went through an incredibly tough group stage and then over 180 minutes against United they were better,” said Guardiola..
“In Madrid they were fantastic, and again here (in Manchester). It’s a team that are what they are and they are able to avoid what you are.
“You try to impose your game, but sometimes it is difficult.
“Playing the second leg away is more complicated. But these are the best eight teams in Europe. All roads are difficult.”
The first leg will be played at The Etihad on Tuesday 5th April, with the return leg at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on Wednesday 13th April.
The winners will face the winners of the Chelsea/Real Madrid tie in the semi-final.
