City to face Southampton in FA Cup quarter-finals

Blues face difficult trip to south coast after beating Peterborough

City will face Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, following the draw on Thursday evening.

Pep Guardiola's side qualified courtesy of a 2-0 win against Peterborough, whilst the Saints defeated West Ham 3-1.

The game will played at St Mary's on the weekend of 19th-20th March.

The two sides have drawn both Premier League games this season, with a goalless stalemate at The Etihad followed by a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture. Guardiola was effusive in his praise of Southampton after both games, and will know that City face a tough task if they are to progress to the last four of the competition.
