David Silva, John Stones and Ilkay Gundogan are all expected to return to the starting line-up, although two goal hero Yaya Toure is ineligible, having not been named in the Champions League squad. Manager Pep Guardiola has, however, hinted that he could yet be included in the squad for the knock-out stages.

"Of course now he's not able to play on Wednesday, or in the last game against Celtic," Guardiola said.

"If we are able to qualify in the Champions League, after, I will sit with my staff and we will decide who are the best players to help us to achieve in the Champions League games."

City's last away game against Borussia ended in a 2-1 victory, with Sergio Aguero netting a late winner from the penalty spot. Overall City have won three of the five games played against Borussia, with one draw and one defeat.
