City's back-to-back victories at Swansea in the EFL Cup and Premier League were soured by injuries to Belgian pair Vincent Kompany and Kevin De Bruyne. Manager Pep Guardiola allayed fears regarding the length of their lay-offs, however, stating that he expected both to return in "two and a half or three weeks". Fabian Delph misses out once, and Angus Gunn is replaced in the squad by Billy O'Brien after suffering a hip injury. Nolito is available again despite currently serving a domestic three game ban.

Guardiola is on the verge of a club record equalling 11th straight victory, but is expcting a difficult game against Brendan Rodgers' side.

"It's my first time here in Glasgow to play against Celtic. Everybody talks to me about the atmosphere and I am looking forward to the experience.

"I was happy with our performance against Borussia Mönchengladbach and this is an opportunity to take a big step forward.

"I saw the game here against Rangers and saw how intense Celtic were, unlike the game in Barcelona. There was lots of high pressing, they were aggressive and that's the kind of game I expect tomorrow."
