Manchester City’s under 21 powered their way to the top of the Barclays Premier Under 21 (North) league with a fine win at Motspur Park, the home of Fulham under 21’s.
Two first half goals in a dominate display saw Vieira’s young Blues leap above local rivals, Manchester United.
Sinan Bytyqi opened the scoring just past the half hour mark, with one of his trademark free kicks from twenty five yards out and the lead was doubled minutes later when Brandon Barker waltzed through the home sides back four to finish well.
City continued the pressure in the second half and further opportunities fell to Barker and Pozo and substitute Thierry Ambrose should have made it three on 75 minutes, but somehow miscued his header from five yards out
There was a late rally from the home side, but Ian Lawlor was on hand to deny any goal scoring opportunities and produced a fine fingertip save to deny Plumain right at the death.
