The Telegraph report that West Ham are serious in their intent of taking Carlos Tevez on loan even if the club privately put their chances of completing the deal at a generous 1%. And there was me thinking it was just a cheap publicity stunt to try and appease the fans. talkSport, meanwhile, claim that Juventus are interested in the Argentine whilst ESPN believe Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala are hopeful of a deal.

Elsewhere, loathsome Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has made "come and get me" eyes to City by refusing to commit to Arsenal. "When I came to Arsenal we immediately beat City, but in recent years much has happened in England", he sobbed.

"James Milner fears for his England future" screams the headline in today's super soaraway Sun. The basis on the article is a little more mundane, with the consumate professional stressing the importance of squad rotation at City.

The same publication also reveal that Daniele de Rossi is set to snub City by signing a new contract extension at AS Roma.

Finally the Spain coach, Vicente Del Bosque, has refused to respond to reported accusations from David Silva that he has frozen the midfielder out of his plans. Del Bosque said: "I have to talk to David Silva. He said something at the time that he considered his treatment unfair but he has not said anything to me. Therefore I can't say anything."
